This course helps third-year Bachelor students develop critical reading and effective writing skills. Through interactive workshops, students will explore argumentative texts, academic and creative writing, and key concepts such as intertextuality while strengthening their analytical and written communication abilities.
An intermediate to upper-intermediate level of English proficiency
Basic reading comprehension and writing skills
Regular participation in course activities and discussions
Access to a computer or mobile device with an internet connection
A willingness to engage in critical thinking, reading, and writing tasks
This course aims to:
Develop students’ understanding of creative writing as a distinct form of expression.
Enable students to produce original creative texts.
Foster students’ ability to critically analyze and justify stylistic choices in creative writing.
Develop students' ability to extract important details from visual sources.
Identify the essence of creative writing.
Distinguish the difference between academic writing and creative writing.
Apply the process of creative writing.
Analyze the different stylistic choices used by creative writers.
Write a creative piece.
Justify his/her own stylistic choices.
Before studying the current content, the student should:
Know the key principles of Academic Writing.
Have experience reading literary texts.
Be familiar with literary devices.
